For two successive years, New Life Assembly of God was one of many churches that helped host a "Day of Compassion" for Janesville and the people of Rock County. Thousands of people were given bags of groceries, haircuts, health screenings, and much more all for free. As an outgrowth of that very effective outreach, better than twenty area churches decided to help "Day of Compassion" evolve into something that could and would serve the needs of the disadvantaged in our community nearly every day of the year. Today "Day of Compassion" is called LOVE INC. As a pastor, I see LOVE INC as a safety net. While the church that I pastor cares for and helps those who are struggling, we still can't help everyone. LOVE INC takes up the slack. We provide food. Another church helps with clothes. Then another group helps with transportation or shelter for the homeless. LOVE INC brings us together and enables each of us to do more than we could ever hope to do alone. In short, LOVE INC is a very Christian response to human need. I wholeheartedly endorse LOVE INC.
